Traditions!!!!December is here and all our traditions are in full swing with our Elf (which K named Elfie) showing up Thanksgiving. Elfie is a hoot. Every morning he zips back from the North Pole in time for us to find him in the morning and he watches over us all day long until bed time when he fly's to Santa's workshop to let him know if we've been naughty or nice for the day.
This year we are starting a new tradition based on an old tradition but this year instead of just getting in our Christmas Pj's and reading the night before Christmas and sending K off to bed this year we are adding the grandparents via Skype with a little chat and the reading sending K to bed for Santa in the morning.
We have yet to find a neighborhood for Christmas lights so we tend to have hot cocoa in the van and driving through a local park who put up some nice lights for the holidays. It's neat but something about houses all decorated just brings out the Jolly.
Toys for tots.. I felt this was something important I wanted my child/ren to grow up doing. I have been doing this for years (16 yrs old)but K started giving since he was 2 but last year was his first year of going out and buying some toys to donate. each year he becomes more aware of WHY we do what we do. We are so blessed with all that we have it's a blessing to be able to share that blessing with others.
